Karen Roy

Karen Roy is part of a team dedicated to making Birmingham a better, smarter, more attractive place to live and work. As a member of the Executive Staff of the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, she plays a vital role in helping Birmingham businesses in the 7 county area grow, develop and realize their potential. She's the gatekeeper to the President, coordinating and preparing projects for a wide variety of influential Directorial and Trustee Boards and Executive Committees.

Prior to the Chamber assignment, Karen held the position as Executive Assistant to the President of Jefferson County Commissioner, Mary M. Buckelew, during her entire term in office.

Other organizations she belongs to include the YWCA, Salvation Army, Red Cross and Business and Professional Women's Club. Karen is married to Allen Roy and they're the proud parents of two sons.

Since 1887, the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce has been a consistent advocate for business in the Birmingham area marketplace and a key business and economic development organization for the central Alabama region. It boasts 6 primary activities: research, business retention and expansion, small business development, ethnic minority/women business development, international services and venture capital.
